Have You heard?  You too can get your book published and become rich and famous – right here in Oak Hill. Here’s the proof; Denniger Bolton of Dripping Springs has his first book out and it’s actually selling. The book is titled, “Hippie Hollow – Murder on a Nude Beach.” The novel is a humorous mystery and the hero is a former rodeo competitor now a private investigator. The novel is available at Amazon, Book People and Barnes and Noble. It is published by a local book publishing company in Oak Hill called Javelina Books.

You may know Denniger from Pure Luck Farm and Dairy, and Organic Farm and Goat Ranch located in Dripping Springs and well known for organic cheeses and dairy products. He managed this family business until recently when he turned it over to his daughters to run so he could concentrate on his writing.

We talked to Denniger this week at the “First Thursday” events on South Congress Avenue where he had a booth with his books on sale. An encouraging fact for us seniors is that he didn’t begin his real writing career until age 60. This is not to say that he began cold at this advanced age as he has been writing poetry and various articles for Texas publications for some years.

He actually began his novel about five years ago and published it this past year. Because he couldn’t readily get a national publisher, he co-founded Javelina Books to publish and distribute his novel. It is now selling so well that Denniger is hard at work on his second novel – a sequel to the first book.

Like his previous book, the second will be set in Austin and Central Texas. When you read the book, you will find many scenes set in familiar locations, like downtown 6th Street and various bars and joints in and around Austin. You may even find yourself, or someone like you, as one of the characters in the book.
